William Mackrell partners with GENART for the performance of his live installation piece ‘ARRIVAL’ at Art Basel Miami 2015. The performance is scheduled for Wednesday, 2nd of December from 7 – 10 PM at the Mondrian South Beach Hotel in Miami, FL.
William Mackrell was first introduced to ANDIPA as the winner of SPOTLIGHT 2013, an award in partnership with the Royal British Society of Sculptors dedicated to emerging contemporary art. His work is both deeply personal and yet explores universal dialogues between the plausible and absurd. Working across various disciplines from performance and installation to painting and mixed-media works, Mackrell leads us through his world, challenging us to reconsider the ‘reality’ around us.
William Mackrell completed his BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art (London) in 2005. Solo exhibitions include Andipa Gallery (London), MOCA (London) and Arts Gallery (London). Selected group exhibitions; Krinzinger Projekte (Vienna), A.P.T Gallery (London), Dundee Contemporary Arts (Scotland), Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts (Melbourne, Two Rooms Gallery (Auckland) and Nellie Castan Gallery (Melbourne). In 2013 Mackrell was the recipient of the Spotlight Prize from Andipa Gallery and the Royal British Society of Sculptors and was earlier that year artist in residence at Krinzinger Projekte Galerie Krinzinger (Vienna).
Recently, Mackrell completed his Sculpture Shock residency at the Royal British Society of Sculptors and also exhibited work at Frieze London 2015 with Galerie Krinzinger. See artist page for more artist information and works.
