We are delighted that performance and installation artist William Mackrell was selected to present his latest work as part of the ART14 curated programme of performances. The live performance of the piece entitled 'Soprano for Route No. 141' took place at the art fair on Friday 28 February at 2pm. The piece was delivered in three parts and we are pleased that it was exceptionally well-attended and well-received.
William Mackrell completed his BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art (London) in 2005. Solo exhibitions include Andipa Gallery (London), MOCA (London) and Arts Gallery (London). Selected group exhibitions; Krinzinger Projekte (Vienna), A.P.T Gallery (London), Dundee Contemporary Arts (Scotland), Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts (Melbourne, Two Rooms Gallery (Auckland) and Nellie Castan Gallery (Melbourne). In 2013 Mackrell was the recipient of the Spotlight Prize from Andipa Gallery and the Royal British Society of Sculptors and was earlier that year artist in residence at Krinzinger Projekte Galerie Krinzinger (Vienna). He recently presented work at Frieze London with Galerie Krinzinger and with Andipa Gallery at last year’s ‘Plug In’ Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair. Earlier this year, Mackrell has been shortlisted for the International Emerging Artist Award 2014.
