Coming from a series limited to 50 prints, ‘Bomb Middle England’ might refer both to the incrementing and everlasting violence in the Middle East as well as the to the Middle Class of rural England.
The artwork presents three elderly women enjoying outside entertainment: their hats recall the imagery of soldier helmets, and instead of playing lawn bowling, they are throwing bombs.
