Andipa is proud to announce a solo exhibition of Nicola Pucci’s beautifully stylised dreamlike paintings in conjunction with the artist’s successful selection to represent Italy in the 52nd Venice Biennale 2007.
Pucci works largely from photographs, often combining elements from several different sources within a single painting. While drawing upon various influences including Surrealism and the art of Francis Bacon, Pucci stands apart from popular contemporary trends or movements, choosing, rather, to explore his unique world, mysterious and alluring yet inspiring and elegant.
Nicola Pucci was born in Palermo, Sicily in 1966. He received a degree in Illustration from the European Design Institute in Rome and has since been well received in a number of solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe and New York. Having caught the attention of many established collectors, including gallery owner Larry Gagosian, Pucci continues to push his individual style and the powerful personalities that emerge from his canvases.
Exhibition showing from 24th May- 24th June. Contact Andipa Gallery for all enquiries.
