Picasso and Matisse are the acknowledged twin giants of modern art, creating some of the greatest work of the twentieth century. They studied each others work, dialogue through their pictures and each came to realise the other as his true and only equal. Their time was one of intense innovation and progression. Both artists relished the challenge of printmaking: Picasso emulating the genius of Rembrandt and Matisse exhibiting his mastery of simplicity and line. Both embraced the variables presented to them by the media of original prints; their inventiveness spanning decades.
Andipa Gallery is pleased to announce a Picasso and Matisse exhibition of selected graphic works representing many of the various styles, period and media within the great body of prints by both artists.
Exhibition dates 16th November- 8th December 2007
