A reinterpretation of the famous photo of the protest in Tiananmen Square which took place in 1989, ‘Golf Sale’ differs from the original photograph in that the demonstrator standing in front of the row of tanks is holding a sale advertisement sign.

‘Golf Sale’ is a blunt statement on Chinese as well as global politics, by means of which Banksy puts into a historical perspective the dynamics of contemporary Chinese economy.
