'Las Gemelas', coming from Andrew Munoz's 'A Walk In The Park' series', draws from Munoz's fascination, which borders into an obsession for figures, both comical and grotesque, which inhabit public open air spaces. Inspired by Goya and the Teletubbies in equal measure, Munoz creates an imagery which he applies to each of his artworks.
'Las Gemelas' portrays two twin girls dressed in sailor-like baby clothes. While also recalling the image of the 'REDRUM' twins in 'The Shining', the twins could also be dolls, as both their attire and their size suggests their connection to typical porcelain dolls.
